Obituary
Laura Augusta Pomfrey McCormick, 91, lifelong resident of New Kent, departed this life Sunday, September 5, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rob McCormick; one brother, Russell Pomfrey; and one sister, Thelma P. Biddle. She is survived by her children, Janice Fisher, Bobby McCormick and his wife, Jeannette, Marilyn DeHart and her husband, Cliff, and Frances Bradley and her husband, Donald, all of New Kent. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Ken Fisher (Lee), Tricia Shiflett (Stacy), David DeHart (Laura), Kevin Bradley (Megan), Laura Ann Nicolai (Sam), Robbie McCormick (Stephanie), Kimberly McCormick and Jennifer DeHart; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Temple V. Pomfrey and his wife, Mary Julia; one devoted sister-in-law, Fan V. Pomfrey, all of New Kent; six nieces and two nephews. She was a lifelong and the oldest member of Corinth Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and family at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Corinth Baptist Church, 11650 New Kent Hwy., New Kent, Va. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Corinth Baptist Church Memorial Association, P.O. Box 126, New Kent, Va. 23124-0126.
