Mrs. Barbara Jane "Bobbie" Bailey, age 78, died Wednesday at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. She was born in Metter, Ga., and lived many years in Savannah before moving to Beaufort in 1993. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beaufort and enjoyed playing bridge.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Harold Bailey of Beaufort, S.C.; her daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Mark Guilloud of Beaufort, S.C.; her son, Raymond Harold Bailey Jr. of Savannah, Ga.; one brother and sister-in-law, Joe and June Jones of Hilton Head, S.C.; two grandchildren, Blake and Bailey Guilloud of Beaufort; and her two beloved dogs, Sophie and Sadie.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Brooklet City Cemetery.

Mr. Raymond Harold Bailey Sr., age 93, passed away peacefully on August 1st, with his family by his side. Ray was born April 3, 1924, in Richmond, Virginia. He served in World War II in the Pacific Theater and saw some of the harshest battles of Saipan and Okinawa. Upon returning from the war, he attended Virginia Tech and graduated with a degree in civil engineering. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Savannah and started his engineering firm, Bailey & Associates. He continued his career as director of Public Works for Beaufort County and eventually moved to Beaufort after many years in Savannah. Ray is predeceased by his wife, Barbara J. Bailey, who he was married to for 51 years. Surviving are his children, Alison Bailey Guilloud (Mark) of Beaufort; and their children, Blake (Carolyn) Guilloud Bailey Guilloud, Raymond Harold Bailey Jr. (Dodie) of Savannah; and Ray's stepchildren, Lucy and Hank Hutcheson. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in Brooklet City Cemetery with Elder Steve Taylor officiating.
