Lucille "Beba" Hicks Walker-Boothe, 73, of Richmond, took God's hand and went home with Him, May 26, 2006 with her family at her side. Lucille is the daughter of the late Crowder M. and Blanche Madison Hicks. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Blanche Louise Hicks, Sarah Gertrude West, Lillian Estelle Flippo and Ruth Hicks Walker. She is survived by her children, Susan W. Fowlkes of Richmond, Nancy W. Ouzounis of Highland Springs, Eugene W. Walker Jr. of Beckley, W.Va., Ruth W. Porter and her husband, Lucille's beloved son-in-law, Lewis of Freeport, Maine, John F. Walker and his wife, Tracy of Montpelier, James M. Walker Sr. of Richmond; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces, a nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves behind a treasured family friend, and her "personal chef", Karl Schlebusch. The family will receive friends at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, on Monday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Monday in Oakwood Cemetery, Richmond.
