married to Pettengill

TOANO - Betty Stewart Pettengill, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2017. Betty was 72 years old and grew up in James City County. On July 1, 1962, Betty started working at the James City County Treasurers Office and retired as Treasurer of Williamsburg/James City County on September 1, 1998. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lanexa, VA. Betty is survived by her mother, Ila Mae "Mickey" Stewart; her husband of 40 years, Eugene F. Pettengill; daughter, Denise Bowles (Randy); son, Fletcher Angle (Renee); sister, Phyllis McClure; two grandsons, Stewart Bowles (Lindsay) and Stuart Pearman (Chelsea); and other family members. A visitation will be held 5-8 PM on Wednesday, January 25th at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. The funeral service will be held 10 AM, Thursday, January 26th at Liberty Baptist Church, Lanexa, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Condolences can be registered at www.vincentfh.com.
