Betty Ann Frazier, 79, of Lynchburg, VA, formerly of Rixeyville, VA., passed away, Saturday, April 4, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Culpeper, VA. She was born February 23, 1941 to the late John William Warring, and Evelyn May Warring in Washington, DC.
She is survived by three daughters, Darlene Frazier Hoffman of Culpeper, VA, April Darnell (and husband Kyle) of Culpeper, VA., and Jeana Holdstock (and husband Steven) of Durham, NC; ten grandchildren, Amber, Ryan, Bethany, Nathanael, Amy, Jillian, Jonathan, Jordan, Zane, and Justin; 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by one sister, Sandra Cook of Montross, VA.
In addition to her parents Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Franklin Frazier.
Betty’s one passion in life was to follow Jesus and to make Him known to others. She earned a bachelor of theology from Life Christian University of Tampa, FL. In 1980 Betty founded Christian Oaks Academy, a non-profit, private Christian school where for over 20 years she voluntarily labored investing into the lives of many families. She is remembered as one of the first pioneers in this area who fought for a parent’s God-given right to choose the path of education for their child.
The family has requested, in lieu of flowers and in memory of her dedication to the education of the next generation, donations be made to a Christian School of your choosing.
Betty will be laid to rest alongside her devoted husband at the Culpeper National Cemetery. Under the current pandemic guidelines, no services are planned at this time. An online guestbook and tribute wall are available at
