Thomas Edward Dulaney
Transportation Personnel Manager
Thomas Edward Dulaney, 78, who retired as a personnel manager at the Department of Transportation in 1971, died of renal failure July 14 at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Mr. Dulaney, a Falls Church resident, was a native of Celt, Va., and a 1940 graduate of the Jefferson School of Commerce in Charlottesville. During World War II, he served in the Army in Europe and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded a Bronze Star.
He worked briefly at the Bureau of Roads in the early 1940s and rejoined it after the war, settling in the Washington area. He was a member of Westover Baptist Church in Arlington and president of the adult Sunday school program at Fairlington Presbyterian Church in Alexandria.
His wife of 27 years, the former Margaret House, died in 1974.
