NameJames Wm Ewing
BirthEwing’s Mill, Pa.
Misc. Notes
From roots web
His home was in the Montour section overlooking the Monongahela River where his great grandfather, William Ewing, had settled a claim "Park Hill", which also contained Ewings's Mill. All of this was before 1800. He had 4 children.

James sold his inherited farm about 1890, and moved t the state of Washington. He, like the earlier Samuel William Ewing, seems to have had a "restless foot" and went to the Klondike in the Alaska Gold Rush of the late 1890's. He returned to Washington; but in his old age, came back to Western Pennsylvania where he died in 1941. In his last years, he lived at the Log house during the summer. (Walker-Ewing Log House built c.1790)
Burial: Union Church Cem., Montour, Pennsylvania 1
• Note: Ida May and James William were cousins. 1
