MARTIN Clifford H. Martin Jr., 89, of Virginia Beach, formerly of Richmond, died August 31, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline. Survivors include his son, Clifford H. Martin III and his wife, Susan; daughter, Connie M. Barney and her husband, Hank; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Edward P. Haff and his wife, Minnie; niece, Marilyn K. Hale; and nephew, Charles D. King. Mr. Martin was a co-founder and secretary treasurer of Beauchamp, Martin, & Gay Metals Company, now known as BMG Metals, Inc. He was also the past Chairman of the Board of Martin Metal Fab, Inc. Mr. Martin enjoyed a lengthy retirement, pursuing his love of fishing and golf, accomplishing his goals of three holes-in-one and several rounds below his age. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Private interment. The Martin Family would like to thank The Sandalwood Road Family for their devotion and companionship. His family would also like to thank all family and friends for their prayers and concerns. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in his memory.

Clifton Martin, 59, Succumbs
Clifton Berry Martin, 59, of 969 Langley Field Road, Hampton, died at his home at 7:30 last night after a long illness.
A native of Lenexa in New Kent County, he is survived by his wife, Florence E. Martin; a daughter, Mrs. C.F. Young; four sons, C.R. Martin, L.A. Martin, L.M. Martin and A.W. Martin; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Bobbitt and Mrs. Bertha Wainwright; two brothers, Hugh T. Martin of King William County and John Martin of Richmond; six grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral aggangements are incomplete.
Martin Services Set fr Monday
A funeral service for Clifton Berry Martin, 59, of 969 Langley Field Road, Hampton, who died at his home qt 7:30 Monday night, will be held at 3 P.M. Monday at Lawrence B.Wood Funeral Home.
The Rev. John H. Garber, D.D., pastor of Hampton Baptist Church will officiat and interment will be in Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be John E. Phillips, Ernest Phillips, W.T. Richardson, J.W. Lewis, John Field and Clarence Borwn (probably Brown). Other friends of the family will serve as honorary pallbearers.
