Obituary
Williamsburg, Va., July 2.- B.L. Parr, 46, widely known mail carrier, met with an accident Friday afternoon which resulted in his death thirty minutes later.
Mr. Parr was engaged in his regular afternoon delivery and was entering the yard of a home near the college when his foot slipped and he fell, striking a short iron post. The weight of the fall forced his ribs inward to the lungs and caused a hemorrhage, it was said. He was rushed to the local hospital and given immediate treatment, but he died shortly afterward.
Mr. Parr was an Englishman, his parents coming to this country when he was 8 years old. Besides from his wife and three young children, he has but one other relative, a brother, who resides in Detroit, Mich.
The brother is expected here to attend the funeral, which will be conducted from the home on East Palace Street at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow. Rev. H.E. Cromer, pastor of the Methodist Church, of which Mr. Parr was a member, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. J.H. Miller, pastor of the Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Parr and her family are members.
