BARTHOLOMEW DANDRIDGE CHRISTIAN, was Clerk of New Kent county. Married, first, Matilda Anne Poindexter, and had issue: Martha, Octavia, and Douglas. He married, second, Annette Crump, and had issue.

Note-The fourth child of Bartholomew Dandridge Christian, a son is omitted in the record. Also the second marriage of Bat. D. Christian and Annette Crump, date was Nov. 26, 1868. One daughter, Annette was born. Mother died in childbirth.

Bartholomew Dandrige Christian and Matilda Anne Poindexter had four children:
Martha Ellen Christian, called Ellie, was born January 8, 1852, and died November 6, 1931. She married 11 Dec 1907, her first cousin, Robert Christian Apperson, born in New Kent County in 1833, a son of John C. and Susan Travis Christian Apperson. Robert Christian Apperson married for his first wife, Martha Ellen Poindexter, his cousin, and for his second wife, he married Martha Ellen Christian, his first wife's niece and namesake. Robert Christian Apperson Enlisted in Company F, Virginia 3rd Cavalry Regiment on 03 Apr 1862. He died 24 Aug 1928 St Peters, New Kent, Virginia.

Octavia Dandridge Christian, b. Jun. 14, 1853 d. Dec. 23, 1925, m. 1875 John Newton Harris, b. 19 Aug 1851, d. 18 Oct 1900.

Douglas Christian, b. Feb. 24, 1860, d. Sep. 15, 1919, m. Frances Allen "Fannie" Barnham, b. 1872, d. 1942, daughter of Thomas and Susan Barham.

James Stamper Christian, b. Nov. 18, 1864, d. Dec. 17, 1937, m. 1st Minnie Blanche Chandler, 2nd Mary Waring.
