GARRETT, Mildred Ford, 87, of The Masonic Home of Virginia went home to be with Jesus on Friday, February 27, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward "Eddie" Garrett Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Garrett Satterwhite (Roy); two sons, James "Jimmie" Edward Garrett III (Carolyn) and Dennis James Garrett; one sister, Gwen Hues (Morrie); three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Garrett was a very thoughtful person and always sent birthday cards to everyone she knew. She was devoted to her church and Masonic Home Choirs, as well as, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a charter member of First Independent Church in Richmond, and later joined New Bridge Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at The Masonic Home of Virginia, 4101 Nine Mile Road, 1 to 3 and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009 (entrance off of Masonic Lane). Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009 at New Bridge Baptist Church, 5701 Elko Road. Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
