HINES, Josephine Lammey, 99, of Henrico, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2014. She was born in Henrico County on June 29, 1914 to John I. Lammey and Majorie Childress Lammey. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Captain James Emmett Hines Jr., Richmond Bureau of Fire; son, William I. Hines; sister, Virginia L. Whitlow; brother, William J. Lammey; and dear family friend, Molly Lindsay. She is survived by her sons, James E. Hines III (Linda) of Glen Allen, Va. and Dr. M. Wayne Hines (Mary Jo) of Lanexa, Va.; six grandchildren, Suzanne Slye (Ryan), Paula Hines, Steven Cole (Jess), Sarah Grubbs (Robert), Kathleen Harrison (Austin), Mark W. Hines II (Lauren); eight great-grandchildren, Vivian and Lily Slye, Ethan and Caleb Cole, Simone and Christian Grubbs, and Mikaylie and Gracie Harrison; loving nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. Josephine was a member of Ruth Sunday School Class at Lakeside Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank the staff at Beth Sholom Home for the extraordinary care and loving kindness shown to Josephine in her final years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beth Sholom Home Employee Fund, 1600 John Rolfe Pkwy., Richmond, Va. 23238, or a church or charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond, Va.
