Obituary
Charles Waverly Hazelwood, 77, who worked for the General Services Administration from the mid-1960s until retiring in 1978 as director of the national liaison office, died of a respiratory ailment Aug. 11 at Inova FairfaxHospital. He was a Springfield resident.
At the GSA, Mr. Hazelwood traveled within the United States as a liaison with other government agencies and went abroad to help governments set up central supply systems.
He was a real estate agent in the late 1970s and early 1980s at Mount Vernon Realty in Alexandria.
Since the mid-1980s, he had been president of NVA Title, a Springfield title company his son owns.

HAZELWOOD, Frances Anne Hobson, 88, of Springfield, Va., formerly of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Waverly Hazelwood. She is survived by her children, Linda Lloyd Hazelwood Hunley (Dr. Richard L.) and Charles Waverly Hazelwood Jr. (Sonya); grandchildren, Anne Lloyd Hunley, Charles Waverly Hazelwood III, Alexander Lee Hazelwood and Laura Elizabeth Hazelwood; and many other loving family and friends. Frances was born on Garland Avenue in Richmond, Va., May 14, 1927, to the late Garland and Mary Hobson. She graduated from John Marshall High School and was employed by McGuire Veterans Hospital, where she met her husband during WWII. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Commonwealth Chapter, Jamestowne Society and other ancestral societies. Frances was a longtime member of Battery Park Christian Church. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend, who will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 13, at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond Va. 23230. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 14, at Battery Park Christian Church, 4201 Brook Rd., Richmond, Va. 23227. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
