Ellyson, George Alfred

George Alfred Ellyson, 90, of Quinton, passed away Friday, December 12, 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ruby Ellyson and his oldest son, George Allen Ellyson and is survived by his devoted daughter, Mary Thompson and her husband, Charles; his son, Richard S. (Dick) Ellyson; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Terrell Ellyson, all of Quinton. He retired from the Va. Department of Transportation after 32 years of service and was a member of The New Kent Ruritan Club for over 38 years. The family will receive friends at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted at Providence United Methodist Church, 4001 New Kent Hwy., Quinton, Va. at 2 p.m. Monday with interment in the church cemetery.
