LANEXA - Raymond 'Pecan' L. Garrett, 85, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007. He was born Nov. 13, 1921, and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lanexa, Va., and retired from Cheatham Annex after 31 years of civil service. Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Iris S. Garrett, and his parents, Tom and Eva Garrett. He is survived by his sons, William L. Garrett and Ronald E. Garrett and his wife, Sissy; a daughter, Kathryn G. Bridewell and her husband, George; a sister, Audrey Dean; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. tomorrow, March 13, at Liberty Baptist Church in Lanexa, Va., with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at The Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va.
