GRIFFIN, Irene Hazelwood, 85, of Highland Springs, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008. She was preceded in death by her son, Alan L. Griffin. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lawson L. Griffin; her daughter, Linda Netherland and her husband, James, of Powhatan; her daughter-in-law, Anne F. Griffin; her granddaughter, Samantha Griffin; and a great-grandson, Jayden Graham, all of Richmond. Additionally, she is survived by four step grandsons, three step great-grandchildren; her two brothers, J. Payton and F. Harold Hazelwood of Mechanicsville; and her sister, Lois H. Loving; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Frances Hazelwood of Richmond, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Griffin was a retired school nurse from Highland Springs Elementary School. Her family will receive friends Tuesday, March 25, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, and where funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
