Obituary
LANEXA - Charles D. "Cabbage" Slater, 71, of Lanexa, Va., died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at his home. He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Emery of Franklin, Mass.; a son, Timothy W. Slater of Lanexa; four grandchildren; two sisters, Emily S. Millis of Lanexa and Cynthia Ann Laband of California; and a brother, Alvin D. Slater Jr. of Lanexa, Va. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Lanexa, Va. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at Vincent Funeral Home, West Point, Va.
