Frederick L. "Butch" Stewart Jr., 64, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2003. He was a native and lifelong native of Lanexa. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Lanexa, and had worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator with C.H. Evelyn Piling Company. Preceding him in rest was his father, Frederick L. Stewart Sr.; and sister, Alice Faye Stewart. Surviving members of his family include his wife, Katie L. Stewart; daughters, Bertha Tomasek and husband, Mike, Carol Loughrey and husband, Dennis, Shannon Steinmetz and husband, Eric; sons, Robert L. Stewart and wife, Shantania, Robert S. Lester and wife, Pam; three granddaughters, two grandsons; mother, Ila "Mickey" Stewart; sisters, Phyllis McClure, and Betty Pettengill; and other extended family members. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, 3 to 5 p.m., at Nelsen Funeral Home. At other times the family will receive friends at their residence. Funeral Services will be held Monday morning, 11 a.m., at Liberty Baptist Church, Lanexa, with Pastors David Riley and Troy Allison presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the James City County / Bruton Rescue Squad in Toano, Va. Arrangements by Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
