WILLIAMS, Evelyn May Throckmorton, 93, of Mechanicsville, slipped away quietly at her home with her family, on July 19, to be with her Lord. She was born in Richmond on August 22, 1914, to the late James Throckmorton and Mary Harmon. When she was young, she worked alongside her father at the Union Envelope Company. In 1938, she married her beloved husband, Aubrey Thomas Williams, who preceded her in death in 1998. After many years at home raising her son, she went to work for the Pohlig Bros. Company, until her retirement. She was a member of the Hanover Evangelical Friends Church. Survivors include her son, Thomas Edward and wife, Wendy, of Mechanicsville; two sisters, Marion Burns of Sandston and Barbara Oates of Ruther Glen; sister-in-law, Dorothy Throckmorton; brother-in-law, William Brinkley; two grandsons, Michael Wayne and wife, Laura, and James Matthew and wife, Desiree, all of King William; five great-grandchildren, Trinity Marie, Elizabeth Marie, Emma Leigh, Azriel Eve and Joshua David; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved church family. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Gerald and William; and two sisters, Louise Goode and Margaret Brinkley. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 21 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Laburnum Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. the following day at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Memorial Park.
