LANEXA - Richard H. Stewart, 85, of Lanexa, died April 17, 2011. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. April 20 at Vincent Funeral Home, Providence Forge, Va., with visitation an hour before the service. Richard was born on May 16, 1925 and passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011.Richard was a resident of Lanexa, Virginia at the time of his passing.He served in the United States Army in 1946.He is survived by his wife Edythe.A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., April 20th at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA. Obituary for Richard Stewart
Richard H. Stewart, 85, of Lanexa, died April 17, 2011. Richard’s life passion was hunting. He was a member of York Hunt Club for over 60 years. He served in the United States Army in 1946. Richard retired after 40 years of service from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. He was a Charter Member of the James City Bruton Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad in Toano. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Edythe Stewart of Lanexa; daughter, Gayle Tyssen (Hank) of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Ben Sawyer (Jana) of Williamsburg, Tye Tyssen (Leslie) of Virginia Beach, and Taylor Tyssen of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Ethan Tyssen and Jackson Sawyer; brother, Billy Stewart (Betty) of Lanexa, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., April 20th at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m., for an hour prior to the service.  The family would like to give special thanks to Sentara Hospice nurses that provided care; each one of you had a special place in his heart and ours.
