FINNEGAN, Clara Booth Whitlow, 94, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2014 in Ona, W.Va. Clara was born on October 17, 1920 in Richmond, Va. to the late Claude and Clara Booth. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 41 years, Raymond S. Whitlow, whom she loved and cared for deeply; her second love of 11 years, John F. Finnegan Jr.; her brothers, Charles, Claude Jr. and Raymond Booth; as well as sisters, Louise Jett and Arline Rowe. She leaves behind her cherished only son and his wife, Stewart W. Whitlow, and Shirley of Milton, W.Va.; an only granddaughter, whom she adored, Emily, of Richmond, Va.; a loving brother and sister, Thomas Elwood Booth and Barbara Morris, both of Midlothian, Va.; as well as many nieces and nephews. Clara was retired from Federal Reserve Bank and was a member of Montrose Presbyterian Church for many years. Her life was marked by kindness, generosity and an overwhelming love for those around her. While we grieve the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, we take great comfort in knowing that she has joyfully met her Savior face-to-face and has been freed from her failing, earthly body. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. A graveside service will be held at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr., Sandston, Va. 23150, on Wednesday, November 26, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be mailed to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, W.Va. 25709.
