Edward H. George (Eddie), of Sandston, Va., passed away on July 22, 2006. Eddie was born on January 8, 1921, and was a lifetime resident of Richmond, Va. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Mamie George; his first wife, Phyllis Toone George; daughter, Audrey George LeCoq; and brother, Floyd George. He is survived by his wife, Frances Stewart George; and four daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Tommy Moore, Betty and Robert Magann, Marian and Ben Williams, Kathleen and Andy Foote; and son-in-law, Ace LeCoq, all of Richmond, Va.; one brother, Herbert George from Newport News, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 (567 AAA Battalion). From 1946 to 1980, he owned and operated Eddie's Restaurant and Eddie's Drive Inn, both located at Charles City Road and Williamsburg Road in Henrico County. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue. Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
