CHARLES CITY - Virginia Vail Phillips Hazelwood, "VeeVee," 51, passed away Aug. 13, 2010.
VeeVee was an administrative associate in radiology for Sentara Williamsburg RMC. She was the kindest person you'd ever meet, always loving, thoughtful and selfless.
VeeVee was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Isabelle Phillips; and her brother, Thomas Michael Phillips.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robert Hazelwood; her two sons and their wives, Paul (Colleen), and Adam (Crystal); and her granddaughter, Emma Leigh. VeeVee is also survived by her sisters, Janet Cooke and Lydia Collins; her brother, Ronnie Phillips; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family including her "second mom" and aunt, Mary East.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Liberty Baptist Church, 15810 Liberty Church Rd., Lanexa, VA, with burial following in James City Chapel Cemetery in Norge, Va. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA.
