BARHAMSVILLE -Agnes Timberlake Flippo Davis of Barhamsville, Va., beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died July 31, 2005.

Born Aug. 29, 1918, Albemarle County, Va., to the late James Walker and Nora Anderson Timberlake.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Samuel Flippo; and a sister, Frances Timberlake Young.

Mrs. Davis was an active member of Hebron Baptist Church, in Afton, until moving to Williamsburg in the early 1960s when she became a member of Tabernacle Methodist Church.

She was employed by Colonial Williamsburg for several years.

Survivors are her dear husband, John Lloyd Davis; two daughters, Martha Flippo Hamlet, and Jeanne Flippo Bailes; three granddaughters, Jayne Hamlet, Janet Hamlet Francis, Robin Bailes Brock; three great- granddaughters, Lauryn Nicole Francis, Victoria Rose Francis, Makayla Noel Brock; a half sister, Doris Marsh; three step-children, Kathrine D. Susee, Lloyd C. Davis, Lawrence E. Davis; seven step-grandchildren; and twelve step-great -grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Barhamsville, conducted by the Rev. Michael Mayton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, prior to the service at the church.

Vincent Funeral Home, West Point, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.

Obituary
BARHAMSVILLE - J. Lloyd Davis, 97, of Barhamsville, Va., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010.
Lloyd worked at Chesapeake Corporation for more than 20 years and retired from Colonial Williamsburg. He lived on the Davis family home place that had been in the family for more than 100 years, where he continued the family farming tradition.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes T. Davis.
Lloyd is survived by a daughter, Katherine "Kitty" Susee (Ed) of Tempe, Ariz.; sons, L. Christian "Chris" Davis (Shirley) of Salina, Kan., Lawrence "Larry" Davis (Frances) of Chesterfield; stepdaughters, Martha Hamlet (Fred) of San Diego, Calif., Jeanne Bailes of Charlottesville, Va.; sisters, Virginia Solan (Mike), Lillian Blondek, Gertrude Lindsey; brothers, Preston Davis, Clifton "Boogie" Davis (Anna); 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; four special nephews, Vin and Ray Davis, Ralph Hylemon and John Teets; numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery, 20051 Tabernacle Road, Barhamsville, VA 23011. A memorial service will follow in the church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Vincent Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181.
