West Point-- Manley V. Carter, 63, of Port Richmond, King William County, died Saturday morning at a Richmond hospital. Surviving are six daughters, Miss Marie Carter, Mrs. Connor Hooper, and Mrs. W. E. Hooper of Port Richmond, Mrs. R. W. Dixon and Mrs. C. E. Zahn of Richmond, and Mrs. Clyde Paul of Hopewell; four sons, Manley, Robert, George and James Carter of Port Richmond; three brothers and four sisters. The funeral procession left at 2 p.m. Monday from the Carlton Funeral Home, in West Point, and proceeded to the cemetery at Olivet Baptist Church where interment was made. Rev. J. E. Bowman, pastor of the church, and Dr. S. L. Lacy Jr., pastor of First Baptist Church, West Point, were the officiating ministers.31
