John Henry Whitlow, 82, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2011. Mr. Whitlow was the son of the late John Henry Whitlow Sr. and Maude Hicks Whitlow of Richmond.

He was a lifelong resident of Richmond and was a retired quality control supervisor for James River Paper Company, where he worked for 27 years. He was a 1948 graduate of John Marshall High School, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets, Company B. Mr. Whitlow was also a lifetime Richmond area sports enthusiast.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Audrey Wooldridge Whitlow; one sister, Constance Dean (Hilton); two sons, Bernie Lloyd and John Kenneth (Pat) Whitlow; two daughters, Judy W. Garrett (Jay) and Susan W. Brannan (Paul), both of Midlothian; a loving and devoted niece, Joanne W. Kefauver of Mechanicsville; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Brooks (Kenny), Travis Whitlow (Kristin), Jay, Garrett and Cole Whitlow, Danielle Garrett, and Lindsay and Taylor Brannan; four step-grandchildren, Angela Shook, Christopher Brannan, and Corey and Kristen Wathall; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Benjamin Brooks and Skylar and Bryson Whitlow; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Savannah Shook; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Huguenot Road Baptist Church. Interment Dale Memorial Park.
