Obituary
Her monument was made by J. Henry Brown Monuments Incorporated of Richmond, Virginia. The company order book is at the Library of Virginia, and her marker is listed on page 127 of the year 1917. Her birth is also recorded at the Library in the Thomas Meredith Family Bible. Throughout her life she was known as Emma, on census records, pension documents, and by her signature.

George Minor Winn died at his desk as Deputy Clerk of Fluvanna County in the Palmyra Courthouse. His death was from "apoplexy" (stroke). At one point in his career, he was a real estate agent in Buena Vista (1891), VA. His wife was Emily (Emma) H. Meredith from New Kent.
