Ellen Prudie and L. Drexel Crump

Ellen "Prudie" Johnson Crump, 75, of Fort Myers passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 followed by the love of her life of 54 years, Lehar Drexel Crump, 76, who passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012.

Prudie was born in Conway, SC to Malcolm and Edna Johnson and moved to Fort Myers in 1949. She worked at Lee County Bank, Drexel's Hardware and Heritage National Bank. Her favorite hobby was playing Bridge and she truly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Drexel was born in New Kent, VA to Grosgean Graves Crump and Thelma Crump Wilson. He moved to Fort Myers in 1955; served our country as a U.S. Marines; worked for Al's Supermarket/Auto Parts; later owned/operated Drexel's Hardware and was a dedicated Rancher.

The couple is survived by their son, Derek (Michelle) Crump of Fort Myers, FL; daughter, Dana (Charles) Spencer of Ocala, FL; grandchildren: Abraham, Jordyn, Kody and Kate.

Prudie is survived by brothers: Carl (Annice) Johnson of Chattanooga, TN, Clayton (Wanda) Johnson of Fort Myers, FL and Collins (Rozelle) Johnson of Punta Gorda, FL; sister-in-law, Argean Johnson. She was predeceased by her sisters: Anna Mae Skipper & Cora Englehardt; brother, Gee Johnson; and brother-in-law, Charles Engelhardt.

Drexel is survived by sister: Inez Mihalcoe of Williamsburg, VA; brothers: Grosjean Graves (Nellie) Crump of New Kent, VA, Thomas (Ruth) Crump of Richmond, VA; and Bobby (Sherry Lynn) Wilson of Pensacola, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Prudie and sister, Jeane Crump.

Visitation for the couple will be held from 1-3pm on Sat., June 30, 2012 at the First Christian Church, 2061 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers. Funeral services will begin at 3pm with burial following at a later date in New Kent, Virginia.

Visitation was held from 1pm - 3pm on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the First Christian Church, 2061 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, FL, with funeral services beginning at 3pm. Graveside service was held at 12 noon, Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at New Kent Chapel, Cooks Mill Road, Ancestral Church of the Crump Family, New Kent, VA.
