Henrico Co. W&D, 1725-37, p. 448; 4 Aug. 1734 Anthony Wilkinson of Henrico Co. to Matthew Turner of Charles City Co...L25...land on north side of Swift Creek...bounded by Charles Clay, Martha Blankenship, Henry Walthall, Edward Hill, and John Farlow [Farley?]...77 acres; wit: Edward Wilkinson, Benjamin Fernando, Littlebury Eppes [next two recorded deeds are for Robert Bowman and John Farmer] [This is part of land sold by Wm. Mosely to Anthony Wilkinson in 1732]
Matthew bought land in 1734 adj. Charles Clay, Martha Blankenship (widow of Ralph), and Henry Walthall. In 1749, William Turner I was living on land adj. John Blankenship, Martha's son, a Clay, and Henry Walthall. William Turner married John Blankenship's dau. Amy (granddaughter of Martha). Matthew was obviously dead by 1749, and his son William was living on the identical land.
This is probably the Matthew who witnessed a deed in Charles City Co. with wife Hannah in 1726 with William Hudson (see note below), but this is not conclusive.
