CRUMP, Robert C., CLU, 81, of Richmond, passed away November 5, 2010. He was retired after 33 years of service with Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Rob and Kenny. He is survived by his "bride" of 60 years, Marilyn Shirey Crump; two daughters, Cathy Brandell and her husband, Jack, of Alburtis, Pa., and Linda Bassett and her husband, Forrest, of Williamsburg, Va.; brother, Walker Crump Jr. of Columbia, S.C.; two grandchildren, Lacy Kuller and Forrest Robert Bassett; nieces and nephews; and also his faithful and loving doxies, Schnitzel and Itzy; and his "guardian angel," Gay Rudis. Mr. Crump was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War earning the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a Virginia Blood Service Volunteer, a Henrico County Motorist Assistant and a longtime member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Sunday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Chapel, 4825 Pouncey Tract Rd. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association , 4600 Cox Rd., Suite 130, Glen Allen, Va. 23060 or Shady Grove United Methodist Church, care of the music ministry.
