JOHNSON, Edward Francis "Knotty," born March 10, 1919, passed away March 23, 2014. He was the son of the late Katie Whitlow and Thomas O'Connor Johnson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas O'Connor Johnson Jr.; and son-in-law, Thomas Edward Edelblut. He was the widower of Kathleen O'Connor Johnson, to whom he was married to for 71 years. He is survived by two daughters, Mary J. Puccinelli (Ralph) and Kathleen J. Edelblut; son, Edward F. Johnson Jr. (Mary Louise); 12 grandchildren, Mark R. Puccinelli (Jacqueline), John P. Puccinelli (Sherri), Mary Anne Townsend (Brett), Matthew O. Puccinelli (Alison), Mary Elizabeth Quist (Tim), Luke O. E. Puccinelli (Kirstin), Mary Kathleen Loving (Larry), T. O'Connor Johnson (Elizabeth), Mary Stewart Mitchell (Scott), Katherine J. Hatfield, (Johnny), Kathleen E. Cohen (Greg), Thomas E. Edelblut Jr. (Laura); 34 great-grandchildren, and three nephews, Thomas O'Connor Johnson III, Richard B. Johnson and Jerry V. Johnson. He was the oldest member of the Knights Of Columbus Council No. 395. Mr. Johnson served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He had a lifelong career in sales. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Little Sisters Of The Poor and Wednesday, March 26, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., with a Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 6006 Three Chopt Rd., Richmond Va. 23226. Inurnment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters Of The Poor, 1503 Michaels Rd., Henrico, Va. 23229.
