Obituary
James R. Bowery James R. Bowery, 74, of 613 Hamilton Ave., Colonial Heights, died yesterday in the Petersburg General Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Bowery was a native of New Kent County, but had resided in Colonial Heights for many years. He was a retired employee of the Friend Company here, and was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Charles W. and Ida Bailey Bowery. Mr. Bowery is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Hall Bowery of Colonial Heights; one sister, Mrs. Grace B. Davis of Quinton, Va.; two brothers, J. A. Bowery and H. R. Bowery, both of Quinton; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be h e 1 d Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, Colonial Heights. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. C h e s t e r . The Rev. Archer V. Turner, pastor of Colonial Heights Baptist Church, and Dr. Frank G.
