Laura A. Wesson Mrs. Wesson, 95, of Matthews, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital - Main. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at McEwen - Mint Hill Chapel. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. H.W. 'Buddy' Pigg officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Mr. Wesson was born October 13, 1912 in Norfolk, VA, daughter of the late Jasper Bradford Franklin and Anna Tyree Franklin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Wesson, Sr. and their daughter, Barbara Stilwell. Mrs. Wesson was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Matthews and a former member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Wesson is survived by her children, Thomas R. Wesson, Jr. (Burlene) of Hamlet, NC, Mike Wesson (Gerri) of Charlotte and Susan Cain (Jerry) of Matthews; son-in-law, Richard Stilwell of Huntersville, NC; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
