Patricia C. Apperson, 74, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. She was a lifelong Crabber of Hampton High School, Class of '58. She received her Associate Degree from Thomas Nelson Community College. Patricia was employed at Ft. Monroe and the CINCLANT Fleet and retired in 1990 after 30 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church Fox Hill. She and her husband enjoyed fellowship with The Original Club. She was also a member of the American Legion, Post 48 Ladies Auxiliary.
Patricia was preceded in rest by her husband, Lemuel "Pat" Apperson. She is survived by ***Names of the living have been omitted per Find A Grave rules***.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Patricia's life will follow at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Tommy Markham. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff of Dominion Village for their loving care and will be eternally grateful for the home they made for "Miss Pat."

HAMPTON - Lemuel R. Apperson Jr., 72, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005. Born in Newport News and a lifelong Peninsula resident, Mr. Apperson graduated from Newport News High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked 43 years in the Newport News Shipyard, retiring in 1993. He was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post #48 and the Legions, 40 and 8 Club, member of the Original Club, the Travelers Protective Association and Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Mr. Apperson is survived by his wife, Patricia C. Apperson; sons, Lemuel Apperson III of Norfolk and Samuel Apperson of Hampton; and a brother, Norris E. Apperson of Newport News. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown Hampton, by the Rev. Derek Pringle with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the American Legion Post #48, 221 E. Mellen St., Hampton, VA 23663.
