Ruby E. Getchell, 92, of New Seasons at New Britain, Chalfont, PA, formerly of Allentown. Passed away Friday August 22, 2008 in the Briarleaf Nursing Home, Doylestown. She was the wife of the late William W. Getchell, Sr. Ruby was born in Richmond, Virginia, a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Hicks) Redford. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She never lost her passion for Southern tradition and cooking. She was an avid talented seamstress who created a high fashion wardrobe for herself.
Survivors: Son: William W. Getchell Jr. and wife Sally A. of Point Pleasant, PA; Four Grandchildren: Lynn wife of David Heath, Denise Getchell, Steven Getchell and Cassandra wife of Edward Brandecker, Sr.; Four Great-grandchildren: Tanner and Miranda Heath, Edward Jr. and Nicole Brandecker.
Services: 10:30 A.M. Monday in the Stephens Funeral Home Inc. 1335-37 Linden Street, Allentown. Call 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown.
