Obituary
Richard C. Spears, Jr age 79 of Nokesville, VA passed away peacefully at his residence.
He was born on December 24, 1940 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, son of the late Richard C. Spears, Sr and Julia Eborn Spears.
He enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer. He worked in Real Estate Development and Insurance Sales.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Kylie Paige Warnecki; his sister Julia Hoyt and his stepmother Jackie W. Spears.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Janice House Spears ; his children Terri L. Spears, Cynthia M. Betterly (Craig), Karen L. Warnecki, and Thomas C. Lomax (Jill); his grandchildren Philip and Scott Betterly, Alexa Warnecki, Chad and Brooke Lomax and Joshua Spears. He is also survived by James Dove and Ruby Jo Dove Bledsoe and extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank all care givers from Vitas Hospice, Sharing Hearts and B.K. Royston who gave him comfort and love during his illness.
A graveside service will be held at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, if desired a memorial contribution in his memory may be made to either Vitas Hospice Care, 9625 Surveyor Court, Manassas, VA 20110 or UVA Cancer Center, P.O. Box 800773 Charlottesville, VA. 22908.
