Lucy House Hutchison, 92, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at AVOW Hospice in Naples, Fl.
Mrs. Hutchison was born on the House Family Farm in Greenwich, VA in November 1923.
She was the eighth of 10 children of John Nathaniel and Mattie Mae House.
Lucy married Wilmer Wilson Hutchison in June of 1954 and they soon became residents of Manassas near the Hutchison Insurance Agency which her husband operated for nearly 50 years.
The couple had two children, Ann Breusch and Wes Hutchison, two grandchildren Ian Breusch and Natasha Dobbs, and two great granddaughters Hallie Grace and Joy Hannah Breusch, all living in Naples. Mrs. Hutchison is also survived by a daughter-in-law Jen Breusch and a son-in-law Justin Dobbs.
Lucy was a 1941 graduate of Brentsville District High School before working for the federal government in Washington D.C. for 14 years. She later taught kindergarten while earning an associate’s degree from Northern Virginia Community College.
Mrs. Hutchison moved to the Carlisle Retirement Home in 2004 where she remained healthy and happy through the beginning of 2016.
She is survived by two sisters, Helen Croushorn (Kenneth) of Nokesville and Marie Watson (Dave) of Midlothian. She is also survived by a sister in law, Winnie Lee Hutchison of Orange, VA, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-12:00 PM Friday, February 12, 2016 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SERVE Inc., a benevolent organization in Manassas Va.
