William J. Mayhugh Jr., 75, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday May 6, 2017, at home, surrounded by his children.

He was born Jan. 7, 1942, at Buckland near Warrenton, to the late William J. Mayhugh Sr. and Sarah Katherine Mayhugh. He was a lifelong resident of Gainesville.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Julia Mayhugh.

Survivors include his son, Michael Mayhugh and wife Juanita Mayhugh; his daughter Sheryl Douglas and husband Mark Douglas; his daughter, Dawn Mayhugh and wife Mindy Mayhugh; his grandchildren, Jeffery Mayhugh, William Mayhugh and Sean Mayhugh; his great grandchildren, Gabriel, Julia, Oliver, Eleanor and Sadie, and his sisters Mary Fairfax and Phyllis Robbins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 10, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, at Greenwich Presbyterian Church, 15305 Vint Hill Road, Nokesville. Burial will follow right in the church cemetery.
