June Mayhugh Smith, 87, of Nokesville Virginia passed away peacefully at Palm Beach Gardens Hospital surrounded by family on April 13, 2014. Born May 16, 1926, on her family's farm in Greenwich Virginia. She was daughter of J. Lewis Mayhugh and Ella Virginia Mayhugh. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Greenwich Presbyterian Church at 15305 Vint Hill Road, Nokesville, Virginia 20181 on April 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. June received her registered nursing degree from Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington D.C. in 1947. She was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corp. She was a life-long active member of Greenwich Presbyterian Church and directed the first weekday Church Preschool for 9 years. She worked for Prince William County schools for 21 years teaching and supporting children with special educational needs. June was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Powell and husband Dick. She is survived by her brother John Mayhugh and wife June and their children Doug and his wife Janice and Lisa and her husband Nicolas; daughter Janice Allen and husband Joe and their sons Tray and Tim; daughter Cindy Daffan and husband Ned and their children Kati and her husband Jason and Chris and his wife Christine; son Wayne Smith and Barbara Bohannan and their children Tanner, Carlin, Megan, Laura, and Ben; great grand children Elliot and Evan and nieces Kathy Thompson and her husband Rob and Jane Faulkenberry and her husband Lowell .
