Last Will & Testament of James McMichael
Allegheny County, PA - Will Book 1, Page 56, #19

In the name of God Amen. I James McMichael of Washington County, Robinson Township in the State of Pennsylvania, being weak in body, but of sound mind memory and understanding; but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my Last Will and testament in manner and form following to wit.

First of all, as touching my Worldly Estate wherewith it hath been the will of God to bless me with, I do order that all my just Debts and funeral Expenses be paid by my Executors hereafter named.

Also I give and bequeath unto my Dearly beloved Wife Priscilla the Priviledge of the House I now live in to enjoy it in common in an unmolested, with my son John McMichael, but if she my said Wife Priscilla should think it more convenient to live more retired, in such case, my will is that my son Isaac McMichael and my son John McMichael do build her my said Wife Priscilla a Convenient Dwelling house for her and her girl Mary Hammond to live in on the same tract on land whereon I now live on any convenient part of said land which she may choose, and the same to enjoy during her natural life, and my said sons Isaac & John McMichael are to supply my said Wife Priscilla and her girl aforesaid with sufficient provisions, together to find in firewood halled to her door, also my will is that the said Isaac and John are to keep one horse, and Cow, and one sheep for my wife Priscilla's use.

Also I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Priscilla the bed whereon she now lies, together with its furniture.

Also I give and bequeath to my wife Priscilla the household furniture she is now in possession of, and to be at her Disposal at her death.

Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Abigal McMichael one cow to be delivered to her at my Death.

Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Marks now wife to William Marks ten Pounds current money of Pennsylvania, to be paid in either horses, horn-cattel, or grain at a reasonable appraisement, to be paid two years after my Death.

Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary McMichael ten pounds current money of Pennsylvania, to be paid in either horses, horn-cattel, or grain at a reasonable appraisement, to be paid two years after my Death.

Also I give and bequeath unto my Wife Priscilla the residue of my Estate, which is personal, during her natural life, then my desire is and I do will and order that my son John do take and enjoy it forever.

And I do hereby nominate and appoint my sons Isaac and John McMichael my Executors of this my last will and testament. Hereby revoking all my other will and wills by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereinto set my set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight

Signed, Sealed, Published and Declared by the said testate, James McMichael, as and for his last Will and Testament, in the Presence of us, who at his request, in his Presence, and in the Presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
