Nannie Irene Hatcher Mayhugh of Warrenton, Va. died on March 4, 2011 at Fauquier Hospital.

She was born on December 29, 1909 in Fauquier County, Va. Nannie was a longtime resident of The Plains, Va. and was the owner of Town and Country Market in The Plains. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, The Plains, Va. and had been a volunteer at Fauquier Hospital for 15 years. She was the last of 17 children born to Robert Scott and Bette A. Edwards who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Forrest Gorman Hatcher and George Mayhugh, Sr. and a son, Harry Marstella Hatcher. She is survived by her children, Flora Ann Xander of Silver Spring, Md., Nan I. Walls of Catlett, Va., Carroll Mayhugh and George Mayhugh, Jr. both of Warrenton, Va. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ephraim Close, II, Marc T. Walls, Amanda A. Chapman, Deborah L. Hatcher, Holly M. Amos and Tony Hatcher; her great grandchildren, Todd Amos, Derek Amos, Laura Hayes, Thomas C. Walls, II, and Tristan Chapman, along with great-great grandchildren, MacKenzie Amos, Juliana McKim, Nathan Amos, Matthew Amos, Kelsey Amos.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, Va. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9 at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Middleburg Memorial Cemetery, Middleburg, Va. Arrangements by
