Minnie Squires McMichael, age 86, of Nokesville, passed away on Jan. 28, 2006. She retired from the Prince William County Public Schools system as a librarian. She was an avid quilter, a member of the Nokesville Extension Club and an active member and Elder of the Greenwich Presbytarian Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Alexander McMichael; her brother, Minter "Bud" Squires; and her sister, Earline S. Youngblood. Survivors include her children, James A. McMichael of Windsor, Susan M. Banning of Newport News, Lydia Gay Zigler and her husband David of Manassas, and Thomas Earl McMichael of Warrenton. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Deborah McMichael, Caton McMichael, Scott Banning, Bryan Banning, Jeannie Zigler, Edward Zigler, Rachael Zigler and Henry McMichael. The family will receive friends at Moser Funeral Home, Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Greenwich Presbyterian Church. Internment will be at Stonewall Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Greenwich Presbyterian Church, 15305 Vint Hill Road, Nokesville, VA 20181 or Capital Hospice Donation Center 9300 Lee Highway 5th Floor, Fairfax, VA 22031.
