Mr. H. A. Wood, who has been employed in Mr. E. T. Garber's blacksmiths shop for several years, has purchased a lot from Mr. Lemuel Trenis at Catlett Station and will build a dwelling house and smiths shop thereon and locate at that place some time in October.

Herbert Eugene Wood Herbert Eugene Wood, age 79 died on February 22, 2012 at his home in Nokesville, Virginia. He was born on October 7, 1932 in Manassas, Virginia to the late John D. and Malinda F. (Hurst) Wood.

Mr. Wood was a life time member of Greenwich Presbyterian Church in Nokesville, VA; not only was he devoted to his church he also was a devoted family man who loved gardening. After working for 35 years as a Dairy Farmer, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Emma Jane Wood of Nokesville, VA; three children: Steven E. Wood and his wife Chrissy of Littlestown, PA, Kimberly J. White and her husband Darryl of Bealeton, VA and Karen L. Bean and her husband David of Madison, VA; one sister: Doris M. Beach of Gainesville, VA; two brothers: John D. Wood and Robert N. Wood both of Nokesville, VA; 6 grandchildren: Trista Bean, Jordan White, Rachel Bowen and her husband Stephen, Bryan Bean and his wife Jessica, Clayton Wood and Corbin Wood. Also surviving are his 2 great grandchildren: Emma and Coleman. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Greenwich Presbyterian Church, 15305 Vint Hill Road, Nokesville, VA 20181 with Pastor Don Meeks officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
