Stewart Sheldon Gough Stewart Sheldon Gough, 84, of Gainesville, Va., formerly of Front Royal, died on Friday, June 10, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Gough was born August 31, 1926 in Vint Hill, Va., son of the late Mason Edward and Viola Elizabeth Whitmer Gough. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the European Theatre of Operations. Mr. Gough retired as a manager of Safeway Foods and was a member of Haymarket Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife Josie Ann Gough of Gainesville; two sons Douglas Gough and John Gough both of Gainesville; three sisters Thelma, Ruth, and Cenne; one brother Mason; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
