Melvin's father was Charles Wesley Hazen, b. at Hardwick, N. J., 12 July 1828, d. at Nokesville, Va., 13 Sept. 1888. His mother was Mary Elizabeth Colvin, b. at Catlett, 6 Dec. 1842, d. at Nokesville, 1904.
