Obituary
Cemetery notes and/or description:
William Henry Godfrey and Jane Elizabeth Rose Godfrey are buried here.

The cemetery is located off Linton Hall Road in a housing development in Gainesville, Virgina. It was once part of their home, Apsen Hill Farm. Turn from Linton Hall Road onto Glenkirk, about a mile from the Rt 29 intersection. Then turn left onto Crackling Fire Drive, 2nd left onto Dancing Twig, 1st right onto Shimmering Rock Road. Take the 1st left into a culdesac. There is a wide black topped walkway on the right. The cemetery is about 20 yards on the right in a fenced area.

There appear to be seven, possibly eight, grave sites. Many have been marked with orange surveyor's tape. These stones are crude in design, many are sharp or rounded and protrude from the ground. Some have been leveled across the top. There are no inscriptions.

Four Godfrey children are buried here. Adolphus Godfrey, Henry Smith Godfrey, Susan Elizabeth Godfrey Moore and Chloe Godfrey Anderson.
Chloe Anderson's husband, Sare, and their young son, S. Kerfott Anderson are also buried here.

*The lay out of the graves are from the top of the hill moving down to the stream:
Jane at the top left, Henry to the right
Below Jane on the left is Chloe, Sare to the right
Below Chloe is Kerfort
Further down on the left is Adolphus, Henry Smith to the right.*
Position of graves provided by Jerry Rhodes, husband of Linda Kline Rhodes, great granddaughter of Rose Virginia Godfrey Mayhugh. **New information (2/8/2014) provided by Dink Godfrey indicates Susan Elizabeth Godfrey Moore is also buried here.
