Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Thomas Webb, 72, of Nokesville, Virginia, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father Sterling Webb, his mother Mabel Webb, and his brother Everett Webb.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years Margaret Webb and his four daughters and their families: Dawn Blevins, her husband Barry, and their daughters Autumn, Summer, and Skye; Debra Eddins, her husband Tony, and their sons Andrew, Austin, and Justin; Dena Warren, her husband David, and their daughters Grace and Eve; and Dori Donley, her husband Anthony, and their children Taylor, Jenna, and Jordan. He is also survived by his brother Samuel Webb and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Charles was born on December 6, 1940, in Huntington, West Virginia.
When he was young, his parents moved to Allisonia, Virginia, where he spent most of his childhood before moving with his family to Nokesville in 1958. In Nokesville, he met and courted his wife, Margaret Croushorn.
They were married on June 22, 1963.
In his early career, Charles worked for various government entities, including the FBI, Federal Trade Commission, Metropolitan Police Department, and the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. He then resigned and began working in fulltime ministry. He ministered at Victory Baptist Church in Nokesville, Virginia, for 11 years, serving as a youth pastor, Sunday School superintendent, school administrator, and associate pastor. In 1988, he felt led to begin Resurrection Baptist Church in Bealeton, Virginia. He served as pastor at Resurrection Baptist Church for 22 years. In his final year of ministry, he again served as the associate pastor of Victory Baptist Church. In the last year of his life, he and his wife have been blessed to make Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Midland, Virginia, their church home.
Charles loved his Lord and cared deeply that others would come to know his Savior. He also loved his family and his friends and treasured the time he spent with them. He enjoyed an intense game of Rook or Canasta and could play for hours. He particularly relished his role as “Paw-Paw” to his grandchildren. In his last years, when he could no longer preach, he still enjoyed singing for the Lord and giving out Bibles to those who needed them.
