Marian R. Eckhard, 92, Altoona Center for Nursing Care, formerly of 2410 Fifth Ave., Altoona, died Weds., June 17, 2009 at Altoona Hospital. She was born in Altoona to James 'J.E.' & Jennie (McFarland) Harshbarger. She married Donald Eckhard, who died in 1963. Survived by sons: Edward & wife, Kathleen, of Provo, UT and Jeffrey, of Rockville, MD; daughters: Joyce Huff, of Shelburne, VT and Sharon Eckhard, of Altoona; 6 grandchildren; 11 gr. grandchildren and 3 gr. gr. grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter, Carol Mallin; and sister, Kathleen Sheetz. Marian was a graduate of Altoona High School and Altoona School of Commerce. She was employed as a manager at Harshbarger Dairy Store, and she was later a senior home companion. She was a member of Simpson-Temple United Parish. Stevens Mortuary, Altoona. Interment, Greenwood Cemetery.
