G. W. WYLIE

Geo. Robt. Wylie died at his home in Derby Sunday morning, July 2, 1916. Mr. Wylie's death was the result of a fall which he sustained recently. The deceased was born near Mason City, Ill., Oct. 29, 1865. He came with his parents, John and Mary Wylie to Iowa in 1874, settling near Leroy.

In 1897, Mr. Wylie was married at Leroy to Miss Edna Beatrice Keller. To them were born two children, John and Mary. Besides the widow and two children, the deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ellen Wylie, of Leroy; one brother, Walter Wylie, of Higginsville, Mo., and three sisters, Mrs. Chas. Exley, of Leroy; Mrs. George Westfall, of Derby and Mrs. Sarah McAllister, of Weldon.

All were present at the funeral services, which were held at the Derby M. E. church, Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Duting, of Garden Grove, assisted by Revs. Warner and Harned. Interment was in the Last Chance cemetery.

When but a young man, Mr. Wylie united with the M. E. church at Leroy, later becoming a member of the Derby M. E. church. He was a sincere Christian and faithful to his obligations to the church.

Mr. Wylie has been a teacher in the schools of Decatur and Lucas county for over twenty-five years, and has been very successful in his profession.
