Lucille Lewis Armstrong Lucille Lewis Armstrong, age 90, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. Born on October 14, 1922, in Culpeper, to Dr. Maryan Buford Lewis and Maude Lucille Parr Lewis, Lucille made her life as a homemaker after graduating from Longwood College. She was also past-President of the Culpeper Garden Club where she was a member for 50 years, chair for the Culpeper Baptist Church Flower Committee, and was a member of the A.A.U.W. Lucille taught math in Ashland, Virginia, in the early years and worked at Rochester Ropes for several years. Surviving Lucille is her husband of 66 years, Dr. Thomas W. Armstrong Jr.; children, Thomas Weedon Armstrong III and his wife, Marie, Maryan Armstrong Kearney and her husband, Timothy, and Betsy Armstrong Spencer and her husband, Dave; grandchildren, Kenneth Armstrong and his wife, Ashley, Bradley Armstrong and his wife, Megan, Robbie Kearney, Andrew Kearney and his wife, Christina, Will Kearney, John Kearney, Ben Spencer, and Jack Spencer; three great-grandchildren, Katelyn Armstrong, Kyle Armstrong, and Caleb Kearney; and daughter-in-law, Mollie Moore Ketelhut. In addition to her parents; her brother, Willie Parr Lewis; sister, Francis Lewis Farrar; son, Dr. Lewis Parr Armstrong; and daughter-in-law, Kyle Lovett Armstrong, preceded Lucille in death. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, July 2, 2013, at Clore-English Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 S. West Street, Culpeper, with Dr. Reverend Wayne Bernardo and the Reverend Jerry Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke's School Foundation, 1211 E. Grandview Avenue, Culpeper, VA 22701; Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community, 12425 Village Loop, Culpeper, VA 22701; or the Culpeper Baptist Church Building Fund, 318 S.
